An inspection can be
compared to the MOT for a car; if the car is unsafe it will not pass the MOT.
Approved Certifier of
Construction [Building (Scotland) Act 2003]
If the installation almost complies a little
work may be carried out to bring the installation up to
an acceptable standard. This may be included
in the price of the inspection.
If
the electrical installation is sub-standard and requires work to bring it up to
an acceptable standard then a report detailing costs and indicating the
measures required to achieve compliance, will be given. When the remedial work
is carried out by a.b.c. Electrical then there is no re-test fee (we only
charge for labour used)
Please note that we do not provide original certificates for
any work until full payment has been received, this is company policy.
When do I receive
my certificate?
Where we have to wait on payment for more than a few
days it is company policy to issue the certificate after a waiting period.
This waiting period will be the same as the amount of
time between invoice / work completion (whichever is later) and the date funds
have cleared (usually 7 working days for a cheque). If a client waits 20 days
to pay then the paperwork will be issued 20 days from the day the funds clear.
This will not apply if the client has made
alternative arrangement prior to starting the work- such as an agreed payment
date.
